Scots Toolkit is Braw Clan's unique training course which equips actors with the skills they need to speak Scots on stage. Some familiarity with Scots and an interest in Scots language theatre is required, but you don't have to be fluent or a native speaker to take part.
In the last round, we worked on A Daurk Maiter by Martin Travers - a vivid exploration of love and power in the days preceding the Udston mining disaster. But there's no public performance; Scots Toolkit offers actors the rare opportunity to experiment and learn without pressure. The first two rounds of Scots Toolkit were funded by the National Lottery, as part of our Unlocking Scots development programme.
